Grass-fed Beef | Hormone & Antibiotic Free
Lowline Angus Cattle originated from a closed herd of "low" growth rate Black Angus Cattle in the mid 1900's at the Trangie Research Facility in Australia. Now called American Aberdeen Angus in the states, this easily recognizable breed of smaller framed and docile cattle have the potential to revolutionize global beef production.
Coming up to only waist/chest height on the average adult, these animals are very easy to handle and manage. They are gentle, often comparable in temperament to giant labrador retrievers searching for treats and affection. Cows are calm with you around their calves, and even the bulls are family-friendly. Come check out some Lowline/American Aberdeen cattle to see for yourself. Our herd would love a visit from you!
While producing fewer pounds of beef per animal, Lowlines produce more beef per acre than any other breed of cattle. They have the greatest ability to convert nutrients into bodyweight, making them the perfect animal for a grass-fed model. Large long legged cows are hard to maintain due to their inefficiency, but these smaller framed aberdeen angus allow them to put more energy towards muscle development. Unlike many breeds, they do not require any grain or corn to reach optimum health and market gains. They take non-usable pasture forage and efficiently convert it into a digestible product for humans.
Lowlines / American Aberdeen Angus produce smaller cuts of well-marbled beef that have a healthier ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids. Their meat has less total fat compared to conventional beef without compromising tenderness due to its high intramuscular fat content. Did you know that meat quality is genetic? We work tirelessly to retain only the best tenderness and marbling genes in our herd, while still maintaining functional animal frames. Try some for yourself!
New born Lowline calves weigh an average of 35-45 lbs, guaranteeing calving ease even for first calf heifers. Many dairy and beef farms benefit by using Lowline bulls or semen to prevent dystocia (difficult or problematic calving) in smaller/younger animals. Stress-free calving allows for more productive cows and improves longevity.
This breed is naturally polled, uniform in calving size, and fast to finish. They were developed to suit sustainable and lifestyle properties. All registered Fullblood Lowlines / American Aberdeens are DNA-typed and parent-verified. These animals are fast growing, early maturing, and demonstrate impressive longevity. In our eyes they're the perfect breed for any grass-fed beef producer or consumer
